Hello!

Let's have a little look back moment together.

When did you first heard/read about BTC and when did you start getting into it?

Actually my first experience was thanks to DOGE, i sold my mined DOGE for BTC in Cryptsy, then downloaded window QT and made 0.15 out of it. It was a great feeling.

Hello!

I imagine there will be a low of spam on this thread, but here you go.

I first heard about bitcoin several years ago while reading about silk road. I visited the site and learned that they only accept bitcoin (at the time this was Huh to me). Reading more about it I saw that Ross/DPR would guarantee the fiat value of bitcoin in the event of a dispute with a vendor (and a refund was processed) or at least they gave the option for this. I believe this was back in 2011. Unfortunately I did not do any additional research as to how bitcoin works nor how to mine bitcoin at this time.

I read about both Silk Road and bitcoin probably at least 10-15 times from then to mid to late 2013 when I finally decided to get more "into" bitcoin and purchased some at higher levels then the market is showing now.

I read about BTC like a few years ago but I was stupid enough to understand how cool this thing is.

I first heard about bitcoin in 2011. i downloaded the wallet software and installed it. i opened and ran it and it was so slow. i closed it and forgot about it for years. i was convinced it was just a scam. then in 2013 i saw a news story about it, and ive been around here, for better or worse, ever since.

On April 2013, then i started to collect BTC from faucet.
I also remember selling my 0.3BTC for about ~$30 on September 2013, that was a really bad decision, if only i sell it on November 2013 i would've got $300 Cheesy

When i first herd of it, i dont really know. I am sure was before i actually downloaded wallet and even tried to solo mine them a bit. Wallet i got in beginning of 2013. Doing some faucets and two days latter when i saw they dont bring much i just forgot about it. Then about 14 months latter opened that wallet again and saw that what earned in 2 days of solving captchas is not really that little of money. Since BTC had 2 rallies in mean time. So i got to this forum, that helped me to actually buy some.

I heard about BTC during the hype last year so I'm a relative newcomer but I've become more and more involved with the community. Now I have several crypto sites, investments and all sorts of projects related to it and it has become my passion.

It arrived in the mail. Beautiful. Great packaging. Really worth the $600 I spent on it. And I could plug it into the USB of my laptop and it would mine at the same speed as my video cards!!

The USB asicminer! Good times!!

Nobody on this site is a latecomer.  Bitcoin has barely been born.

I can't remember when I first heard of it but it must've been early 2013. I bought some off ebay with paypal in mid 2013 ans was worried that I was going to get scammed haha. One seller tried to get me to send money via a bank transfer outside of ebay for a cheaper price and I think he wouldve scammed me had I done that.
