I once heard somewhere that Bitcoin mining works by having processing power solve enhanced math problems (algorithms) in exchange for Bitcoin
So can you guys solve this one? It's been bugging me for a while :S
On an equinox, how many hours are there in a full day? 24? Not according to systematically organized flawless arithmetic.
Let 'x' = sum of number of hours in a day and the number of hours in a night Let 'n' = number of hours in a night Let 'd' = number of hours in a day
On an equinox, the night is a bit greater than or smaller than 12 hours. So we will take the approximate value.
'n' = 12
According to Google's unit converter, a day is 24 hours long.
'd' = 24
Equation for 'x': x = n + d
Substituting for 'n' and 'd'
x = 12 + 24
x = 36
Therefore, a day is not twenty four hours long, but thirty six!!!

Your equation is flawed , Since you take a day as 24 hours and you add a night of another day in it . It is no longer a day .

Googles unit converter includes the night into its interpretation of a "day" If you had to exclude the night time part of a day, then D = 12, which will prove that x=d+n= 24 hours

Heres a problem. A full day comprises of a day and a night. If a day is 24 hours, and a night is 12 hours, a day is therefore 36 hours, but before it was stated that a day was 24 hours, so a day has to be 36 hours, and a night is 12 hours, so a day is now 48 hours. Keep going and a day is infinite.

You're confusing a day with a solar day.
A day is a solar day + night.
A day is 24 hours. A solar day is 12 hours. A night is 12 hours.
Solar day + night = day.
