I've heard about that kind of thing too, I remember reading somewhere about a guy who had a degree in Aerospace Engineering or something and did that and ended up getting a job.

I think it is smart. It may not be original but it works. There was a time last year when someone held up a sign at a college football game asking his mom to send him bitcoin with a QR code for his bitcoin address. The sign was shown on TV for only a few seconds and ends up getting more then $25,000 worth of bitcoin
