Someone tried to sell me 270,000 at 2.7 BTC, I said no. In saying that, I think they will get that price and more, maybe in a month or tw.

The volume on the sell side is not so high  so people have clearly hoarded it. That is what I have done, and it was easy to pick up for a couple of weeks.But there are less dumps now, and the sell wall is skinny.

start again, change the wallet to whatever a.dat. Download. Start the client. Let it synch. Bin the false wallet. Change a.dat back to wallet.dat

Just get rid of everything to do with the qt and dll files if you are windows.

Hide them in a folder.

I got stuck, but it worked out wen I did the above (first one).

With windows, no issue, it just synched.

To anyone, I would recommend caution with wallet.dat, but not to resynch entirely. Leave the rest of the conf file alone. Just remove the wallet, let it produce a new one which you can bin.

if all that fails, restart. I have it as 32, 64 Linux and Windows. The peers are mostly 6.9.6.9

Your firewall could also be playing games.

I'm using Windows and this is the part that won't work: Start the client. Let it synch.
It won't sync, just sticks on block 9.

I've tried deleting everything (except for wallet.dat which I backed up elsewhere) and starting anew, still won't pass block 9.  Deleted everything in install folder and the appdata folder.

Just back up the wallet, don't delete the rest.

It should synch. Then just put the old wallet back in after deleting the new one first.

If that fails, do an update of the system. There are no dll files with the update,maybe somehow they are cached.

This was synched on Linux 32. I just removed the wallet, then replaced it when it was fully synched.

If you still have problems, I can take a look tomorrow, maybe synch it for you.

But you must have the old conf file?

If so, it cannot be stuck at 9. Can you use that, let it synch, then replace the new wallet with the real one.
