Too much risky involved.

I hear you. I only have a couple of mining rigs and I have never ever bought into any ICO/IPO coins and I closed every week with a profit. I do hold a few long term coins, but I never accumulated them via ICO/IPO. In fact I have yet to found a coin with ICO/IPO which was so successful that I regretted not getting into. None.

How about Nxt? I wish I could have been in on the IPO. Hearing about the initial Nxt investors returns has probably encouraged others to invest in the countless scam IPOs since then.

The "devs" just sold all the coins. They have zero incentive to continue working on the coin.
