Why, he had a shot on a full Bitcoin whit a 87% change to win.  He things its a exellent bet and took it.
Now after he lost i am still happy he got that kind of opportunity.

That's not the right lesson. Everything in life is a gamble. You cant not gamble. If you put your money in dollars you are gambling on dollars. If you put it in bitcoin you are gambling on bitcoin. The lesson is MAKE SMART BETS. A mathematically demonstrable negative expected return on investment is not a smart bet. There is no way the scope of this problem is limited to gambling. It has to be a symptom of something else not the problem its self. There is no way that you could have tendencies that would compel you to bet on something that you know has a negative expected return on investment and have that be the only negative manifestation of said tendencies in your life. I would bet a million dollars on that and it would be a smart bet.

If you cant identify why you would make a decision that you know is bad on an intellectual level, than your life is going to be shit in general for 1000 reasons gambling only being a small part of it.

But im just some guy talking out of his ass. I dont have any fancy papers on my wall accrediting me to give this advise. So take it for what its worth. I would see a therapist, maybe he/she will be able to help you find the root cause of what ever is causing you to make decisions that you know are bad.

+1 I agree. One should learn from his mistakes to improve his life. If professional advice is needed he should seek it as soon as possible (and without any shame).

Cheap lesson. I lost half of my stamp collection when I was 10 or so by betting on pool games. When I went home and told my parents, my dad looked at me and said "Tough shit".

That was the. most. important. lesson. I. have. learned. It's saved me more money than you can imagine in Vegas.

Craps is the *only* game where it is impossible for the house to cheat.

What about shaving the dice?  They can always do that. Now I don't see any "reputable" casino doing this but I could definitely see it happen at smaller casinos. Even with that, the casino still holds the edge, even if its very small.  Might win in the short term, over time though, the casino will always win.

If they did, then the house would have an edge over the pass/come, although if they were rolling 7's it would be tough on the come-out rolls.

However if the balance did tip, it would mean that the don't pass/don't come people would have an equal edge. So everyone would play donts and kill the casino.

Laying Don't pass/don't come is the most even bet. Basically you're playing as the house with the only disadvantage that a 12 is a "push" on the come-out roll. That's about as close to proper odds as you can get. :-)
