Faucet and nodes are not really the same things.   I node is used for connection of the coins network.  A faucet is a site where you do something and get a very very small reward.

No a faucet is a service that gives out a small amount of coins for people to test it out
Example Gavins faucet long ago so people could try out bitcoin.

A exchange you can change coins for a different one.

A faucet is its own beast you do something on a website and get a very very small payment.  For example a site has ad's you look at it and enter your BTC address and get a VERY small payment.

A faucet would only be needed if you are trying make money off others using your website to pay them.

You should be able to pay a transmission fee on most coins and it will be sent through nodes.

I would think twice about premine.  If you look at coins most premined fail.  If you do a launch and announce time with open to all you give it a better chance long term.

I did think about that and we are not keeping the premined coins we are going to used them to help people learn how bitcoin works and how altcoin work. Most people who I talk to never heard of bitcoin. So we been trying to get on a trading exchange for btc to our coin. Without the premined it would be hard to show them how it works.

Look at launch of LTC was announced and he mined 1 block the genesis block. Then was open for all.  With premining even 1 percent getting on a exchange at this point  is hard.  They will ask what your coin brings to the table.   Getting adoption will be a battle, i wish you luck.

They are different and I think faucets are nothing but waste of time. They give very small amount of reward.

+1.

The response you get in your altcoin thread tells you exactly how people don't like pre-mining. There are only a number of people replying there, and all of the response are quite negative.

We would like the idea of getting on a exchange after the 1% is gone. I am working with a few developers to get that in the process soon.

plus we are looking into an exchange for our own site(the coins own site).

1 percent is just huge if not used for giveaways etc.  Having a coin with a different logo and name is not enough anymore.   I wish you luck but i think damage is already done with premine.

Did you pay someone to make you a coin?

A faucet it a website in which you type a captcha and get somewhere less than 1% of 5$, but payout in bitcoin. Payout and prices differ among faucets. If you hold on long enough to them you can get a dollar or so.

Faucets are places that drip you small amounts of BTC. In contrast, nodes are usually painted in a much better colour; nodes store a copy of the Bitcoin blockchain and help very much in network security.
