RAFFLE
Antminer S4, Batch 2, Shipping direct from Bitmain October 10th onwards

Introduction
There is no doubting that the S4 is a great machine, sadly it's price makes it a tough buy for a lot of people.  So I figure I would offer a raffle with decent odds and a low price.

Pricing
Each ticket is BTC0.1 and you may buy as many as you like until we reach the limit of 40 tickets.

How To Pay
Send BTC0.1 for each ticket you want to buy to the following address
1HzZyTVni8UuHUdvEtRJ5cJXwmJVgDzDeE
Once the transaction has been sent please post in this thread (everything will be public), ensure that you send from an address you can sign a message with in case of disputes
You can check the address below before sending to confirm that the list is not full, once there is BTC4 no more entries will be accepted.
https://blockchain.info/address/1HzZyTVni8UuHUdvEtRJ5cJXwmJVgDzDeE

What's In It For You ?
Not much to be honest, the miner is currently BTC3.304 and shipping is approx BTC0.467 so if everything stays the same I might make BTC0.2, if the value of BTC falls I might actually lose.  But I'm in a good mood, I want to see if this is a good idea and build a reputation for holding them if there is interest.

Why Should I Trust You ?
I've been on the forums for quite and while and done a few trades, but quite frankly you shouldn't trust anyone.  squall1066 has agreed to act as escrow on this offer and will hold the sum of BTC6.
https://blockchain.info/tx/6858cdbc97c4eea20f8e0a2f7e70e662791847ed43e6a15b1bde19499754e7df
If something goes wrong he will distribute BTC5 back to all the entrants so not only will get your coins back you'll actually make a profit and he will keep the remaining BTC1 for any work involved.  I hope this will provide enough confidence for people to enter.

Is Shipping Included ?
Yes up to a value of BTC0.5, if it costs more then you will need to pay the extra. You will be responsible for any import charges and duties or fees that may be payable.

What happens if Bitmain sell out before all the tickets are bought ?
All payments will be refunded

How Will The Draw Be Made ?
I intend to use a third party service random.org, you can read about how it works here... http://www.random.org/draws/
Once the draw is made, the result will be posted here, you will also be able to check on their site that you were entered correctly.

When Will The Draw Be Made ?
As soon as all 40 tickets are sold.

Woohoo I Won, What Now ?
I will ask you to sign a message from your bitcoin address confirming your identity, get your shipping details (and payment for the extra if shipping is over BTC0.5) and place the order on your behalf. Any communication from Bitmain eg Tracking Ref will be forwarded on to you.

I've probably forgotten things, like I say this is a trial to see how it goes. So if there is anything I've overlooked please ask and I will clarify in this post.

The entrance fee is fixed, but I want to make sure that there is an escrow in place before I begin accepting entries so people have confidence it's not a scam Smiley

OP has contacted me to hold escrow, I have confirmed this and have provided details, My terms are - I have all ways charged nothing for my escrows, I believe it should be the duty of a reputable member to help others, not charge, In the event of this going wrong, OP has given me permission to distribute funds directly from me to avoid any problems, I will all ways accept a tip to my address on profile if you like the service I have provided, Or I will give like for like feedback.

Just for everyones information, the address linked to in op has all the money in for this raffle, I will be moving some/all to cold wallet storage as I see fit, All funds are personally backed by me, Meaning I will pay out if hacked/stolen or my error, Play with confidence here.

Thats it, Fairly simple, Good luck everyone!!

That's my address for receiving the entries (and will be used to pay for the machine), squall holds the BTC6 at his address

Also, has the question of who will choose the winner been determined?  I'm in for two shares if we are all good...why the heck not

As per the first post, I was going to enter all the names into the third party draw service that random.org provides and let them choose the winner.  I thought this would be easiest as it takes any decisions out of my hand and there is a public ledger of all the entries and the winner.

ANTMINER S4 -B2
https://bitmaintech.com/productDetail.htm?pid=00020140926075515819D846Og240603
Price:1250 USD ( 3.777 BTC )

And you want to get 4 BTC fir this?

i see 2 scenarios:

1.-Bitcoin price goes up and you get some profits for this.
2.-Bitcoin dont goes up and you lose with the shipping.

How you will proof the provably fair for the winner?

Looks like Tigggger is a stand up guy..looks like he's will to help out us small players, even if he only pays 3.5BTC and pockets the rest, im fine with that..hmmmm .1BTC to win something worth 3.77BTC which I don't have so I couldn't even think about buying an S4..also if you don't understand what a raffle is then maybe you should "Google" it... Wink

noun Raffle
1.
a means of raising money by selling numbered tickets, one or some of which are subsequently drawn at random, the holder or holders of such tickets winning a prize.
synonyms:   lottery, lotto, drawing, prize drawing, sweepstake(s)

I completely agree that the S4 is way overpriced at BTC4+ that's why I thought the raffle would be a good idea, I wasn't actually expecting to make anything out of this one as it was a test to see if there was interest.

It was orginally posted in the Marketplace, Goods, Computer Hardware forum I didn't even notice this sub-board that we are now in was here.

As for fair, as per the first post all the names will be entered into the random.org third party draw service who will pick the winner, I suppose I could video me doing it if people are really paranoid

I don't see the point of videoing it, but if you like too you're more than welcome..I thought it is a good idea to raffle it off, since ppl like me can't afford 3.77BTC and it makes it fun to see if you can win a S4 for a little bit of cash/coins... Cheesy

Can't see this getting off the ground now to be honest mate, which is unfortunate but comes with the low trust levels of people on this forum I suppose, but there are a lot of people on here trying to scam BTC out of un-witting newcomers so people are right to be wary.

I would of thought enough experienced people would of been willing to throw in such a small amount at the chance of this I know I would of definitely bought a few more tickets to up my chances... Huh

It seems that way, still you don't know until you try Smiley

I don't think it's a trust thing, I think it's more that the first batch of S4's are having quite a few problems plus it's not that good a deal at BTC4 so even though the odds are good in the raffle itself when you factor in the real value of the S4 it might not be as appealing, I dunno.

Anyway I'll give it to the weekend I think and if there is no interest I'll see if you and coopster just want a refund and I'll close this.  I can't see Bitmain ever selling out of this at the moment so it'll save this dragging on for ages and keeping yours and my btc locked up.

I agree that more experienced players would join in..I mean .1BTC is nothing, when you can win it, and before it's sent out sell it and get you to mail direct to them instead of the winner..I mean even if you get 2BTC for a machine that is "worth in bitmain eyes" 4BTC it's still profit...if you close it PM me for my address...hoping that you instead PM me that you're the winner Smiley
Ok..all buy them Raffle tickets up so I can win it Smiley
