No idea about that but if you have the wallet.dat file you can download electrum and upload the wallet file there and it should work fine. Also electrum is a way better wallet.

If you don't have any idea why even bother posting?
OP said he lost his password, using that wallet.dat with Electrum won't magically not need a password anymore. Secondly, I really doubt you have some facts(other than maybe being a thin client) to back up your last afirmation.

And last, but not least, you don't have any idea of how this whole thing works, yet you apparently own an 'official' altcoin forum. I pitty your users.

When there is no wallet.dat in your bitcoin directory, the client will create a new one for you.
So, you can either delete the current wallet.dat (only if you have zero bitcoin in it) or rename it to some other filename.

If you are in windows Close your qt. Go to C:\Users\Username\AppData\Roaming\Bitcoin
Rename your wallet.dat to Oldwallet.dat and take a backup of that file.
Run the client now and it will generate a new wallet for you.

Just delete your wallet and it will create a new wallet.dat file automatically. I would like tho the posibility to save wallets with different names and export/import them inside the program instead of doing it on a cheap way with the filenames.

Just in case this is not clear to the OP.
If you loose your password you loose your bitcoins.

Choose a password you can remember or write it down in some safe place.

You can't make any transaction on a wallet if you lose the password.
Just create a new wallet and record the password when you encrypt.

The problem OP faced was that he has forgotten his password of his wallet, and that's why he need a new wallet but not a new receiving address.

You must create a new wallet.

OP asked "How can I create a new wallet on Bitcoin Core?" and you replied "You must create a new wallet."

What is the point of your post?

if you want to create a new wallet then follow these steps

first of all close bitcoin core
go to C:\Users\Username\AppData\Roaming\Bitcoin
in this folder you will see a file named wallet.dat
first you take a backup of this(copy it to a safe place)
now either you rename it to something else or remove it

now open your bitcoin core wallet and it will create a new wallet at startup

if you are asking about how to get your password back then forget about this

Delete wallet.dat. If you find core client not convenient to use, you can try multibit.
