Is there a proven, valid, source that provides the most likely identity of Satoshi?

It's like trying to figure out the real identity of Jack the Ripper - I'd like to see the theories and which one is the one most commonly accepted.

Anything like that floating around?

it's always the man you least expect. so then it's either Steve Jobs or Jesus Christ.   What do you think?

credibility: I read bill gates' interview backwards and that's what I got out of it..

Let's leave Jobs to RIP and respect oother people's religion and not mock around with it in yest.  Wink

We do not know, who Satoshi was, and we might never know. What we do know, is that this person or persons, was brilliant in creating a currency/protocol, that everyone can use.

And we leave it at that.

Agreed.

This is not true (at least the last part of your statement). He was very smart, significantly above average intelligence. He was able to design apple computers when there was nothing to go off of.

I would be surprised if it would turn out that he is satashi as at the time his apple stock was worth billions of dollars and much more then what he could have imagined that his bitcoin (from satashi's mining) would be worth in his lifetime

If that is true then the 900k wallet satoshi has is left dead.

Is there a way to nominate Satoshi Nakamoto for a Nobel prize for the invention of bitcoin - even though nobody knows who it is? I think that should happen.

Also, in the doc The Rise and Rise of Bitcoin, they showed where after the false id of Dorian, that a post appeared on SN's page saying he wasn't Dorian. Was that true? Or legit from whoever Satoshi is or was that hackery?

Satoshi is worth many Nobel prizes. He will won it when he is identified.

It's an interesting idea.

January 2009 Job's announced that his "health-related issues are more complex than originally thought".  That could certainly create pressure to release the code before he finished working out some of the bugs and issues.

Then Satoshi disappeared somewhere in mid 2011, and Job's died in October 2011.

it's just a coincidence.

Hell no, Jobs would have called it something pretentious like iCoin Smiley Doubt we'll ever find out who Satoshi is/are, just the way it is.

If Steve Jobs was the creator of Bitcoin:

- Fully centralized and require a annual licencing fee
- Came out with one feature and the others as gradual upgrades
- NSA approved and supplied
- You would not be able to make changes to the protocol without ending your bitcoin licence
- We would all be idiots Smiley

no way...his ego would never have allowed him to be secret about it

and

well...thats it ...we are talking about 'steve jobs' the expert at 'self-promotion- right?

and face it ..it sure as heck would not be 'open source"

(not to mention he would have mediately made a proprietary CPU based miner from day one!)

again we are talking 'steve jobs' here....sheesh.....

Old Style Legacy Plug & Play BBS System. Get it from www.synchro.net. Updated 1/1/2021. It also works with Windows 10 and likely 11 and allows 16 bit DOS game doors on the same Win 10 Machine in Multi-Node! Five Minute Install! Look it over it uninstalls just as fast, if you simply want to look it over. Freeware! Full BBS System! It is a frigging hoot!:)
