I was going to upgrade them but decided it wasnt worth it.  I have a s2 and 2x s1's should I just sell my two s1's on ebay? as they dont seem to be making much compared to electricity. Especially with drop in BTC price.

any advice would be helpful.

Mine is still running. I undervolted it, got it deep in the basement and it's mining because I don't feel like pluggin it off Smiley. Well, maybe it is time to put it on ebay but hell, I just like the idea of home mining.

Look at what they produce over the course of a week. Does the requisite electricity cost more than the coins?

I turned mine off awhile back. Power cost more than my average BTC mined. I was losing .88 cents a day on average per S1.

With temperatures dropping in my region, it's a cheaper form of heat, so yes, it still makes sense for me.

Same situation for me, it is pretty cheap to use ants for heat geneartors.

I just sold all my 9 S1's 2 weeks ago on Craig's List. I had them undervolted using only @170 watts each but the $50 I got out of each was more than they would have mined before they went in the red on electric cost.

If you're in need of space heaters in your home/apartment, then you can run them to produce both heat and some BTC change at the same time.

Otherwise, it's probably not worth the electrical expense of running it 24/7.

I run 30+ of them... undervolted... they are still making lots of $ at 0.064 elec rate.

they would still make money running full power. but I didn't like the 8000kw hrs bill last month

If hashnest got rid of their S1s cloud hashing you have to assume for 90% of people it is not profitable or worth running. Uless you are paying .06 or so kwh it is not worth it. It does not pay to buy one since the amount of profit at .06 is negligible after fees. If you have one on hand it might pay if you only pay that for electric. At my rate of .11 you receive a negative return.
