Here we go and obviously just opening myself up for some trolling but hey I am game!

Cryptsy.com is almost a year and a half old now the only alt-coin exchange that has been around longer would be BTC-e. We have seen many come and go, and we will see many more come and go. Some will return with new gimmicks and tricks.

So let me start with this Cryptsy has made vast improvements and continues to do so in Security, Stability, Infrastructure and features. So if its been a while since you tried us come back give us a shot. What I can assure you is we are here to stay. Why trust your coins with anyone but the most experienced exchange?

Why is Cryptsy better:
  • We are public you can come to the office and say hello. Located in Delray Beach Florida
  • We are established. A year and a half of trading digital currencies.
  • We are partnered across the space DigitalBTC, Vogogo, multipool, Mintsy to name a couple.
  • We have always innovated with new features Portfolio Buy, Trade Reports, Reward Program to name a few. Some great new ones on the horizon!
  • Our systems protect your investments. Security first nuff said.
  • We are licensed and compliant. Its only a matter of time before exchanges, especially operating in the US, without AML programs are shut down funds seized.
  • We have some huge announcements coming on the horizon. Some in the next week.
  • We are steadily growing and ready to serve you as our customer.

My question to you is what can Cryptsy do for you better?

*I will entertain trolls to a degree but keep the questions relevant to the topic of "what can we do for you better?". If it falls out of that I will delete the post.

Transactions must be included in a block to be properly completed. When you send a transaction, it is broadcast to miners. Miners can then optionally include it in their next blocks. Miners will be more inclined to include your transaction if it has a higher transaction fee.

A friend of mine bought some Protoshares and they have been all the time on Cryptsy. I think it is a pretty unfair decision to not give him his resulting BitSharesX. (Even if this decision was announced ahead.

Other than that I made pretty good experience beside that I lost a lot of BTC - but that have been really bad trading decisions last November - nothing to blame you for...

Keep going and good luck!

XMR has been on my list for some time any coin that requires changes to our back end we just do not integrate as quickly. That being said it is #2 on the voting list... We have a beta android app no release date yet.

The proto-shares Bitshares thing for us was a mess. I mean snapshots were a new concept at the time. Cryptsy was hit by the wall street journal article rush 5000 new customers a day at that time. Support was swamped we could not hire fast enough! When we were contacted the time frame to implement was just to short. The only fair thing we decided we could do was announce that we would not be participating and that folks would have to withdraw.

I finally met Daniel Larimer at inside Bitcoin in NY where he broke it all down and I expressed to him that if only we could have gotten together sooner...

So love the concept of Bitshares! But as you can see we have yet to add it as an option since we could not credit the customers from the first snapshot.

I mean should we at this point? I get requests for bitshares and all the variations we just have not felt right adding them after the missed snapshot.

*One additional note if your a developer to properly integrate a massive coin/wallet change and ensure security we need more than 24/48 hours.

Some nits:

1. Let me set my home page. I hate clicking around to see the coins I want to see.
2. Provide quicker Bitcoin withdrawals, you are far slower than the competition.
3. Get rid of withdrawal fees, wtf
4. provide SMS alerts

never had a problem with cryptsy -

it is slightly annoying that  one has to "maintain" their own account in the regard that when a new spam crypto is listed it goes right onto the main list.

it would be good if when a new Crypto is added it notified the user similar to the other notifications and when the user acknowledged basically "yes or "no"  then the cross is added or not.

a user can go away a few weeks and come back with a list of "questionable" pump and dump schemes added.

nothing against these schemes if people want to design them that's the market, but the usability is the key here.

i've seen some other exchanges get creative with that sort of thing.

Deposits and withdrawals within minutes (or secs) instead of the usual hours, days or weeks would be a good start... Wink

Like mentioned above, a better way when new coins bloat up everything and you have to turn off the daily shitcoins.

PoS coins staking when held on cryptsy and crediting to account (would pump volume and many would move PoS funds to cryptsy) Not to mention new users to PoS wouldn't have to worry about staking themselves. (would require hardware upgrades but can be done!)

Also I think the rebate could be bumped a bit , maybe doubled, and paid every 6 hours (4 x payments 1/4 amounts) to add more 'life' the the atmosphere. Everybody loves those satoshis trickling in, why only do it every 24 hours... Think how things are on the casino floor, makes people want to spend i.e. trade, would bump volume of trading.

Traders know sometimes we have to just sit there and wait for something to happen, maybe some games something else to do other than trollchat (maybe simple group game paying out in Cryptsy points or something)

#1 I like the idea!
#2 Are you a verified customer? Even if you are not withdraws process on confirmation of withdraw so if it took "long" there was something slowing it like a password reset freeze or other security reason why.
#3 Withdraw fees are part of the network and part of how many digital currencies work its a fee that goes into the block chain to pay the miners moving the coins.
#4 Agreed. I assume your talking on trade execution or at given price?

This one is kind of a loaded question. Should we delist coins as fast as some competition? Some of the coins blockchains get mucked up and they are dieing a slow death. Cryptsy does not make the coins we allow two people to exchange them. So some of the dieing blockchain revive others get hard broke like ZEDcoin right now.I remember sending Chinacoin from BTC-e back in the day time to find a block was about 3-4 days so almost 30 days later my coins confirmed. So in those blockchains

The other withdraw delays typically involve security password freezes and other fraud/security procedures that I wont state. Bottom line is your coins are safer however sometimes you might have a delay.

PoS staking on an exchange unfortunately has numerous problems
  • Staking and crediting the right user for coins that staked is nigh on impossible.
  • We move coins internally so throw off your expected staking because the coins you wanted to stake we moved.
  • The CPU usage of many PoS coin is very high so many run with staking off.
  • Others get so large they stake and fork the chain so developers want us to turn it off.
  • So there is no good way to pay stake.
.

Speeding up rebate times would be interesting. If only we could pump oxygen through your headphones on your computer...

The troll chat ideas are great some mods do games win stuff now. We had a chat that added all kinds of features games etc... It lasted about 5 minutes and crashed completely led to us removing chat for months. We are just glad to have it back at this point! But you should see improvements soon.

We did not participate in the snapshot so I do not have any data on that.

If you look at home many "snapshot like" coins systems there are now it is likely we will just not support this type of campaigns. Treat snapshots like stake you have to remove coins in order to participate which will likely remain our official stance.

How do you "not participate" in a snapshot?

Where ever the pts is held is the wallet that gets credit for the snap shot. Does the above mean you just did not claim the btsx?

I would also like to add I had no pts on your exchange at the time and up until the above I WAS a very happy cryptsy user.
