Only 5 hrs away from "morning" in the USA.  I don't think it'll drop ~$100 that quick...

No doubt.

Many a post in these forums insisting we'll never go below 400 again...um, we'll never see 300 -- dammit, 200s aren't gonna happen...

It seems to me the very reality of the 30k wall is enough to anticipate it'll drop into the 100-200 range this week.

Bitcoin has fallen as much in terms of percentages (and dollar amounts) in the past. A $100 drop would only represent a ~ 33% drop from current levels and bitcoin has crashed 50%+ in less then an hour before.

I don't think it will happen, but it is certainly a possibility and if it does happen it would make for a great opportunity to buy more bitcoin

That is a possibility, without many facts it's as good as any. Although it is very hard to imagine such an announcement.

It'd have to be on the scale of a full national de facto ban with criminal penalties involved for "news" to crash it. But there are multi million dollar corporations who have invested billions into bitcoin infrastructure - there's no national ban in this country regardless (and only noted since it's apparently usa setting the standard, for better or worse).

The gox event and the china situation seem to be the two biggest influences of the bitcoin market. The rest of the bad news and even all of the good news otherwise doesn't seem to have any impact one way or the other.

Or, there's about to be a global solar flare or EMP that kills power and internet.

And the charity is over, congratulations to the last lucky buyer of 11,000 coins in one go!

Is that the final slide? Where does the final slide end? Do you reckon it's going to go to $0? I fail to see how this is a probable outcome. A possible one, yes, but not a probable one at all, I believe!

Me and a lot here have been saying it nonstop: BTC will hit on the floor lower than any of the regular posters here ever wanted to recognize.. no doubt it will sky rocket again eventually (or go up in a smooth way), it will go up anyway, but there is going to be a big fucking crash and a lot of Bitcoin ritchies of the early days are going to give their Bitcoins to newcomers that are willing to invest. A much needed redistribution of coins.

Interesting, but the people from the early days do know how to keep their coins, time has shown that they don't act as emotionally as later investors do! Also, I think there aren't any numbers that show that this redistribution is actually happening!
