If Bitconica is hosted on Rackspace why are they using AWS DNS?

Yes I've read all 14 pages.  Most if it noise.  Just curious about the DNS.  I also find it interesting that Bit Coin Consultancy announces a take over of the then posts on the recent thread that they don't know what is going on.  All very curious.

doesn't really surprise me. When was this announcement? 14 days ago IIRC.
Putting that into action requires some time. Letting asside the business side of things, just imagine yourself as an technician being introduced to a site + infrastructure like Bitcoinica. Would you propose any random changes before you're absolutely sure you have seen and understood all really imporant details?

So my guess is: Bitcoin Consultantcy actually taking over the responsibility will require some more weeks, if not 1-2 months.

..well, being technician myself, I'd probably go through the weeks to months of work before I announce anyhing in public. But that's one of the reasons any business-related people I've met look at our kind like we're some strange kind of animal. Actually, it seems to be the rule in the world of buisness to announce something rhoughly plausible as fast as possible, and then work out the details afterwards.

It might not even be necessary to resort on the "buisness" argument -- the world of bitcoin is moving very quickly.

I use Route 53 with Bitcoin Block Explorer so the DNS-based load-balancing can be adjusted automatically by a script. Maybe they do something similar.

The Benefit of Route53 is to have an aws name server to route traffic to internal aws ip's.  Just curious that they would by pointing to external ips.  Must use aws for back up.
