Hello,

I used to use Bitcoin qt however have now upgraded to Bitcoin Core.
I was wanting to buy something online and the retailer is asking for my Bitcoin Wallet Address. Where do I find that?

www.blockchain.info is a nice online wallet. You can download the app on your smartphone and link it to your wallet online. Then you can make payments from your phone.

Either you got it wrong, the retailer doesn't know what he is talking about or he somehow wants to scam you.

When u r trying to buy something online, retailer is supposed to show their address, NOT ask for your address. There is something WRONG here.

It's probably for refunds. Just generate a new receiving address under 'Receive' tab and give that.

Bitcoin Core developer [PGP] Warning: For most, coin loss is a larger risk than coin theft. A disk can die any time. Regularly back up your wallet through FileBackup Wallet to an external storage or the (encrypted!) cloud. Use a separate offline wallet for storing larger amounts.

Ok, I generated a new receiving address but I have a new problem.

3rd party cookies are disabled in your browser

To process your bitcoin payment properly, you must have 3rd party cookies enabled. Please enable them, then reload.


How do I enable 3rd party cookies on Windows 8, IE?

Buying stuff using bitcoin should be easy.

In bitcoin core you can generate new addressess in your wallet. just find them in the bitcoin core.
