On that page that shows all my posts 'Show the last posts of this person', why do some of them have a 'Delete' button and others don't?

Do you mean this button ?

I've also noticed when I browse another users' posts with that link 'Show the last posts of this person' a delete button appears when the message was in one of the threads I started.
Actually, the same thing happens with my profile, the delete button only appears when my posts are in a thread that I started.

Me too I have this button , but I've never tried to use it ( http://imgur.com/HsxQBap ).

That's just a quirk of SMF. It's done that way for performance reasons.

Me too I have this button , but I've never tried to use it ( http://imgur.com/HsxQBap ).

You'll get an error if you're not actually able to delete the post.
