You have to measure in USD, because that is what is needed yo buy. So we need about 10 mil USD.

If we were at 3740 and had 18k BTC up to 10,000 we would need a shitload of money to get there.

I guess potential sellers can add 2 and 2 and calculate how painful it was selling at the bottom for the manbearwhale and how miscalculated that sell was. So they stopped selling. And we have a run now. Until the next bearwhale decides it's time Smiley

Actually if he market-sold he'd have taken us to double digits in the blink of an eye. That move could be interpreted many ways, and one of them can definitely be "I could sink this market with the click of a button." I'm confident that 20-30k was only a % of his/her/their holdings.

Unfortunately, this suggestion is flawed as you are not taking into account how much FIAT and BTC is sitting on the exchanges but not posted as a Buy/Sell trade.

To help explain. When the 30,000 went onto the bitstam exchange at the week end then the price should have dropped or taken a very long while for the wall to be eaten through.

Instead, it was eaten through in 4 hours which means there had to be the equivalent of 30,000 BTC in FIAT ready to buy.
