Anyone who believes they will be raptured should place bets on a contract that the rapture will happen by X date. Then, if it doesn't happen, they get their money back + a little extra, and if it does happen, they lose their money but it doesn't matter anymore.
Except ... the person who believes they will be raptured must bet that the rapture will
not happen by X date, for this to work.
And who is going to bet against them? There's nothing in it for the person who bets that rapture
will happen.

Sure there is! If you believe that God exists but also believe you're going to hell and don't care about it, then you would bet against it.
