I've seen a number of sad tales on bitcoin users who have had bitcoins stolen.

But are there any tales of users recovering those bitcoins?

Are there any tactics that can be utilized to recover stolen/lost bitcoins?

Thanks.

Tactics? Blackmail usually lol. If you can find some evidence againts the theif they sometimes might just send the coins back rather than get in trouble with the law or have their private info published.. I have seen a few examples of people getting their coins back but can't think or link you to any specific examples, but I'm sure others can.

I can't recall any instance when stolen coins were recovered. There are a few cases of coins sent to the wrong address that resulted in the receiver sending back the payment. I can also remember some stories about people forgetting their password then figuring it out later.

Thanks RocketSingh,

I'm curious to read how they recovered that much and also what happened to the remaining bitcoins.
