So just thinking outside the box and inside the blockchain here....

If our bitcointalk.org forum was changed to using a blockchain to store and view posts and or make posts cost a satoshi would there be any benefit to this? Collectively this community has built a treasure trove of valuable information, has this information gotten too valuable for just a few people to manage?

I'm just thinking about this as, posts and people round here often get the boot from some centralized censorship and valuable information and history is getting lost and changed. And since in theory we are all supporting decentralized systems then maybe bitcointalk.org could benefit from these systems as well.

Does anyone think or know if theymos is interested in decentralizing the site?

If bitcointalk was using a blockchain technology then maybe forumcoins would be mined by the client.

The longer it got left on, the more coins you get to post with.

Hero members would get more coins or cheaper posts then say a newbie account.

Newbie accounts would need more coins to make the same point or maybe newbie posts just cost more..... You get the point.

So then to expand this idea a little more.

bitcointalk.blockchain would act like a blockchain,

you would download the client and the blockchain of posts or use a web interface.

there would be a wallet and a miner included.

maybe users could actually vote on things.

annoying members could get the boot from the community or reinstated

we're all adults here, well mostly,
and having just a few mods for this amount of information is ridiculous especially if there is political motivation involved. And when isn't there?

Not to mention, heaven forbid, theymos or other mods go rogue and pull a dread pirate roberts scenario requiring lots and lots of negative press

And we could pump forumcoins and then dump them!
