Hey Jamie thanks.  One thing i would say (incase i came across cold to anyone) is dont feel bad if you get caught up in the gambling trap.  There are very smart people working to make gambling appealing.   Some people are susceptible to different things.  Once you are self aware of problems like this you have a level of control even if that means total avoidance.  Just be honest, accept you are fragile and the external world is much bigger than you.

Peace out.

There are also some interesting replies here: http://www.reddit.com/r/problemgambling

On how to go about solving gambling issues.

Thanks, there is definitely a lot of great advice there.

Thanks for the feedback Daanie, I was beginning to question if anyone would even care about this topic considering how many Casino owners just post here to bump their own threads but replies such as yours make me think otherwise.

I've been considering starting a petition on Change.org to have Theymos implement a regulation on advertising your casino here which would stipulate that you have a clear section for help or support to troubled gamblers if you want to your site mentioned here.

However I haven't been on this forum for very long so I don't know him well enough to say it would work, has something like this in the past worked with Theymos? thoughts/opinions? I would invest considerable time into this so I'd want to make sure it at least has a chance before I start.

Would appreciate some feedback on my last post Smiley thanks!

I dont think it will work in the forced format, cant say for sure. Its the wild west in bitcoin land and for good reason most of the time.

If you can get gaming sites voluntarily opt into things that would be ideal but i think you said you approached a couple sites before with no luck.  So not sure how you get them to opt in to a gamble awareness campaign by choice.

I think the idea is great, but I'm afraid there are not a lot of people backing you Sad. Most of the time, the only people who care are the victims. I do agree there should be a stickied disclaimer/help topic.

Well I guess what is good about BTC is that the most you can lose is all your BTC.

Unlike the casinos where all you keep doing is withdraw more money from your savings or taking cash advances on credit cards.

I know you can always buy more BTC, but its not instant. And by the time you get more BTC, most likely you would learn your lesson and move on.

I'm a gambling addict, I do think there is some sub-conscious need to self-destruct in me. Even knowing all this its hard to control, I was doing pretty well for awhile but have fallen back into it lately.

Great work to Luckybit for adding this to their website, in this day and age a sense of moral almost non existent in casinos (then again I suppose there never was), hopefully Luckybit set an example for some of the other Casinos advertised on BTCtalk.

Have noticed something a little alarming the past few weeks...

I tweeted a response to one of Crypto Betting Index's posts a few weeks ago and ever since I've had at least 2-3 Casino twitter accounts "follow" and "unfollow" me as a form of advertising (twitter notification + e-mail)

From what I've read, it doesn't take much at all for a problematic gambler to relapse and fall into old habits especially in times of boredom (which is why we're on social media in the first place)

Now here is my question:
Does this mean social media should be prohibited for someone in a rehabilitation stage?

I've read a lot of the guidelines from some of the leading help websites and none of them mention this sort of stuff, is our information outdated?

Thoughts?
