The crypto industry in 5 years will be where the robotics industry is today will several 100,000 knowledge workers employed in it

I don't think there is a big niche in terms of a lot of coins existing. There will be one world wide coin, Bitcoin or other, not a lot of cryptos being successful.

Each block is stacked on top of the previous one. Adding another block to the top makes all lower blocks more difficult to remove: there is more "weight" above each block. A transaction in a block 6 blocks deep (6 confirmations) will be very difficult to remove.

The jobs would be more so from startups that are cropping up in the bitcoin space. For e.g. circle.com etc.

Thats actually an exchange, so companies like those might hire people, but what skills those people might be required to have is the question here.
