Of course its not a threat. Apple pay it still just using fiat currency. Still going to have to pay bank and transaction fees same as using credit cards. Its like comparing apples to oranges.

Unfortunately it's possible that Apple pay may harm Bitcoin, if we're being realistic we should remember that we're talking about a company that's known for entering new markets aggressively with innovative technology.
Fortunately for us they seem to have a very tough time improving their innovations *cough* iPhone

I don't think so! Apple Pay is just integrating the significant features of bitcoin to existing payment network, such as anonymous and security.and the biggest of its advantage is its user experience combined to its hardware. The root of it hasn't changed.

Apple Pay is an innovation and can be great but Bitcoin is still very different since it is decentralized and you exchange Bitcoin that cannot be printed by the government

Yes. To average user, Apple Pay and crypto is same thing. Except Apple Pay is by Apple so it must be innovative, right?
Seriously dudes, expecting Apple consumers to know what they're talking about is a pipe dream.

I would expect Apple pay to integrate Bitcoin. It is just a gateway system and not a currency in itself so it is not really a threat to Bitcoin, but it can help it.

Since bitcoin is still trying to increase its user base, It may be tough to attract Apple users towards bitcoin now.

Of course its not a threat. Apple pay it still just using fiat currency. So a bit like most of the Bitcoin payment services available where merchants take Bitcoin payment and sell it for fiat immediately? Still going to have to pay bank and transaction fees same as using credit cards. Its like comparing apples to oranges.
So a bit like most of the Bitcoin payment services available where merchants have to pay transaction fees to the processor?

The answer is a definitive no. This is like asking if your company's private intranet is a threat to the HTTP protocol. It's laughable, really. The two are not even in the same league.

Do people here really not understand Bitcoin?
This is just some mobile payment shite, what the hell has it got to do with Bitcoin?
Bitcoin isn't just some payment system like VISA, it's a self limited decentralised digital currency.
Coindesk has my full disrespect and mistrust for printing such stupid garbage.
