Well guys it has been a tough fight. We will see a constant rise until we break the ATH of 2012. Should hit around the same time this year possibly earlier.

According to NIST and ECRYPT II, the cryptographic algorithms used in Bitcoin are expected to be strong until at least 2030. (After that, it will not be too difficult to transition to different algorithms.)

We need a moon thread in the general cuz that's where most of the noobs and observers generally view at. This spec forum is typically something that needs to be mentally 'unlocked' after plenty of time of checking in here. Perfect time to start stoking the flames.

You say it has been a tough fight as if it's over and there's only one direction to move in, which is false. The ATH of 2012 was around $32 and we're way above that right now. Unless you mean there will be constant dips until we hit $32, which is unlikely as well.

I think he meant 2013. I'm not sure we will see bitcoin at over $1000 this year, but I believe we're going up a fair bit, with all the good news that have been piling up. So maybe $600, $800 a coin this year?

It's better to hold for anyone, whether you bought at 10 cents or $1000, everyone will make 10,000% + profits if they hold long enough.

Sorry to burst your bubble, but that's not happening. Realistically, we could hope for bitcoin to continue growing in users and maybe reach the ATH next year, but anyone with outlandish predictions is simply setting themselves up for a great disappointment.

Um.... how does the flag wave without air?

Now think about how you put a stick into the ground. You push the stick down while twisting it back and forward. This is exactly what the astronauts did. They twisted the pole into the Lunar dust and in doing so they caused the flag to 'wobble'. Since there is no atmospheric friction on the moon, and since there is a low gravitational field, the wobble of the flag persisted for much longer than it would on Earth. It appears as if it is blowing in the wind but in reality it has retained movement momentum from the action of twisting it into the ground.

Or the guy has a pin-sized hole in the suit which blows air on that flag. More drama this way.

I think prices in 2015 will be in the range of 300-1200; in 2016 range will be 1200-5000. I rarely make predictions but this ranges I'm pretty sure about; of course they can be broken, but to the upside only, to return back into the range after a rally. This year's range was 70-280 btw and we've seriously overblown it in the beginning (by, like, 10 times).

I watched bitcoin go from $10 to $1200 and then back to $400 again.

Obviously the gains are massive

There will be another x100 price increase, I guarantee it.  Bitcoin is not even close to yet realizing its full potential.

Market cap somewhere between 400 billion - ?? Trillion. QR codes at the pump let you pay for gas everywhere with bitcoin. You can use bitcoin at the register at large stores like walmart, target, fast food chains, etc, without having to go through an intermediary like gyft. Most churches accept bitcoin donations. Paypal & Traditional banking systems integrating bitcoins (adoption had reached the point where they are forced to do so) Bitcoin ETF's have launched and major investors, hedge funds and the like are investing into BTC and BTC businesses.

Software and hardware have been developed that make BTC easily use-able for the masses

Maybe they'll finally drop the dollar and trade oil in bitcoins Smiley

Heheh.. anyway this is much closer to actual full realization.

Even if you bought in at $1200 it hardly even matters as long as you HODL... or trade your coins to increase the stash.

You just have to hold for a long time.  Grin

Fair enough. I can't blame you for being skeptical.

It's still gonna happen though.
