His name was Otong
Otong is in default trust.
Because default trust He can make a good profit. Grin

Then he make a new account, Gosong.
Then he left his "fake" trust to Gosong has a trust.

Afterward, Otong sell his Gosong's account to other with high value.

Then he create another account and repeat the same way.

the trust system is not perfect, everyone should exercise due diligence when spending or sending BTC anywhere regardless of how trustworthy someone may seem. i think there will always be some risk with btc since it is not 100% regulated or centralized. but if you look at fiat based payment/currency systems, most of them don't offer much protection for the sellers/buyers either. in my case i much prefer bitcoin just because of it's revolutionary technology.

If you are dealing with someone with only one source of positive trust then it would probably not be reliable. The person giving the positive trust would also probably be noticed when the source of the positive is always the same when someone ends of scamming others.

Someone could easily do this without an account on default trust. All they would have to do is engage in a lot of trades with users on default trust and with positive trust in order to gain more legit looking trust feedback.

You should always take any trust feedback with a grain of salt when dealing with another user.

This could happen, but the trust system is there as a guide and not a definitive guarantee that a person is trustworthy. You have to make your own mind up whether a user is trustworthy or not by the available evidence. Having a few feedbacks just from one user should be taken into consideration.

Any time you pass on trust like this, it gets diluted. I wouldn't think A single feedback will have a lot of significance, especially if it's on a new account.

I hope you're not asking this from your alt account to see if you can do this yourself.

This undoubtedly happens every single day. Its why the trust system is meaningless.

A trusted user can do this 100 times and sell each account loaded to the gills with positive trust for a nice profit.

User trust ratings mean nothing. Those who would have you believe otherwise are simply trying to pull the wool over your eyes for their own financial gain.

If a brand new account is created and sudden receives trust, that calls into question the motives of the person who initiated the trust to begin with...especially if the new account has barely any activity or trading history. The lesson here is to focus not on the little green numbers, but rather on the people who left a trust rating to begin with (as well as any references).

And use escrow...which should be obvious by now anyway.

A little bit of green trust typically will make people comfortable on smaller deals. If an account has done a few deals with a few people (one of which being on default trust) then there is a good reason why people would think they can be trusted.

Even though escrow is free it does add a bit of complexity to a transaction as there will be some kind of delays to the transaction as you have an additional party to communicate with.

One way that this kind of attack could be prevented is to have a log published whenever someone adds or removes trust for someone. This would make it easier to detect when someone is "trust padding" their shill accounts

Default trust is very problematic.  This thread talks about it in great detail if you care.

Yes, it can be abused.  However, it is at least something.  I like the trust system, but deleted the default trust list.

Yes, it can be abused.  However, it is at least something.

The something that it is (ironically) is a false sense of trust. That's the only purpose it actually serves. To give you a false sense of security (or insecurity) when dealing with a user.

not at all!
I'm not dare to do that even I'm on default trust.
Wasting too much time & energy

I ask this because I learn how default trust work...

and this problematica appear in my mind.
That's why I ask this into this forum to prevent manipulation of trust

Thanks for the info guys
