Just fyi:
Monero was copy from bytecoin.
shadowcoin was copy from blackcoin & later monero
So you are wrong. Crypto is copy cat world!
I know Monero is Cryptonote based (natively including ring signatures), very improved and with new features later and still now.
I know Shadowcash is a merge of Bitcoin base and ring signatures system taken from Cryptonote.
I know Cloakcoin is Bitcoin base + Coinjoin code configured to use random nodes, + Onion routing (taken from Tor ?)
What I wanted to say, is, once your cryptography, technology, system and code are innovative, improved, complex, huge... there is no interrest for somebody or a band of people to clone this coin. Too much work to understand it perfectly, modify a little bit to say it's different and new (and still working...), and impossible to reach the community level power of the original
opensource coin that they copied. Each dev team and community of the original
opensource coins will always understand better and control better and improve better and faster their sourcecode and be a step forward of those who copy and have not the same experience, skills and community. It's why Monero and Shadowcash are not copied now. The smartest way to get benefits of their code is to join the project, help it and get money in return, instead of wasting time, money energy to make a pale copy always a step behind the strong original.
Of course, there is always a risk. But if the secret code of Cloak is so fantastic, I don't know what you are afraid of. And a lot of people could help to find and fix the bugs and flaws, instead of one dev (yes, statistically there ARE such many unfound bugs).
A this stage, nothing to lose, much to win. Other coin are opensource and prosper from community contribution, without being copied. Of course, it's not compatible with dictatorship.
And, it's the beauty of opensource, we could even dream that a new Cloak contributor could merge a system like opensource InstantX from Dash or Zerotime from VCash (Vanillacoin) into Cloak, and it would definitively be a terrific coin.
Of course, all this is supposing that Cloak's Bitcoin+nodelessCoinjoin+Onion is really a anon system as great and revolutionnary as everybody says (but nobody in public is able to verify that because of closed source, so, no interrest in Cloak). The original Coinjoin has flaws in privacy and anonymity. If the improved nodeless Coinjoin by Cloak dev + Onion is a combination proven to be really innovative and secure, and with new original code, you should no worry to be copied, like I said above. You'll attract people, who will help Cloak, success, without copying. Better to get onboard the train than re-inventing the wheel from zero...
