I've been trying to follow the numerous commits and pull requests, but I'm having trouble finding an answer.

AFAIK the URI-handling is currently disabled for Windows and Mac, so only possibility left is a Linux-style OS, but I don't know, if there is an installer available for that, as im on Windows Wink.

The arch linux package contains the URI handling stuff  Grin
