- They lost bitcoins which they should keep in the wallet generated before their system migration (Sept30). They used permanent wallet address for each client so it is natural to send BTC to those addresses.
- They announced as below after noticing the issue well after the incident
"Please do not fund your account using wallet addresses generated prior to September 30. All transfers to these addresses cannot be credited to your account."
- Ironically they say "(a new address is generated every time you make a deposit, however, you can use all addresses linked to your account):" but they never generate a new address after the incident. Besides, we cannot use the address which should be linked to our account.
- They insist "HitBTC’s funds are always kept safely"  Shocked even they are in trouble as below.

We have received and identified all the requests from the users who have sent funds to the wallet addresses generated prior to September 30. This situation is reflected on both sides. At the present time we do not see the possibility of accessing these transactions.

All technical or compliance issues are treated on a case-by-case basis. If do have any issue, please contact us at support@hitbtc.com.

Did you ever get your funds back?

I'm considering starting legal action against HitBTC for market making fees owed - they owe me $6000 USD for market making on BTCUSD and BTCEUR which they have never paid. Not only that but they have not responded to any emails asking why they haven't paid. They've also deleted my post on forums.hitbtc.com asking for updates.

thx
Steve
