I think XCurrency, DNotes, and possibly DigiByte for long term investments.

A good long term investment good be a PoS with real and growing actual daily use and innovative and adaptive tech orientation, ie. not a mere tool of financial speculation. IMHO FIMK has very good potential to fulfill those specs.

The only long term strategy is: buy low, sell high, even Bitcoin.

Don´t fall in love with a coin.

I'd probably put Dnotes at number 1, moderate appreciation with no downturns (still up 2000% in 7 months which is awesome).

This long term graph sort of tells it all doesn't it? https://poloniex.com/exchange/btc_note

I'd agree that buying low and selling high is a great strategy with less stable coins, but that is not really appropriate for a long term investor.

I like some of the things I'm seeing with XCurrency, but it's been a while since I've followed their thread (too many hyped up morons).

I have to admit the chart is impressive. XCurrency seems to be at the forefront of technology advancement. DNotes seems to be one of, if not the only, coin that realizes it requires more than just the latest tech to be successful. The majority of my small investment will be in those two, for now anyway.

Maieuticoin. Buy it while it's still cheap, put in wallet and stake. Turn your cents into dollars

My number one performer this year has been DNotes, by a longshot. I like the direction they're headed, they have an understanding of business that no new technology can replicate.

Bitcoin is obviously a favorite, and they are ahead by a longshot in terms of consumer adoption. However the majority of the market share is still up for grabs, as billions of people haven't even heard of cryptocurrency yet.

Although I have used and profited on many coins, these are the only 2 I'd recommend to a first time crypto investor.

Aye. There's a small issue with objectivity on here. Hardly anyone is going to have a straightforward answer without touting what they've dipped into.
