Awesome question, but you will only get a list of shitcoins. This is BTT so forget it.

Aye. There's a small issue with objectivity on here. Hardly anyone is going to have a straightforward answer without touting what they've dipped into.

Yeah I figured, it would be hard for me to withhold from attempting to promote my favorite coin as well. It has opened my eyes a bit though.

The grue lurks in the darkest places of the earth. Its favorite diet is adventurers, but its insatiable appetite is tempered by its fear of light. No grue has ever been seen by the light of day, and few have survived its fearsome jaws to tell the tale.

Bitcoin - For sure most likely to succeed. Definitely a long term investment.
Namecoin - Good ideals, stable coin. Would look into, especially if net neutrality becomes a reality.
Hyperstake - I personally enjoy this coin and the community as well as the POS rate. I see it going places, but who knows? Still a fairly new coin. (around 20% every 10 days if you stake then. Max of 60% in 3o days)
Blackcoin - Bithalo, just overall a clean coin.
Nubits - My wild card pick, its tie to the USD makes it interesting, may attract investors looking for something familiar yet different.

From what I can see, there's only a few viable long term investments (alt) coins.

Monero/XMR, seems to be very popular. If the development team can deliver, then I see an interesting/long future with this one.

XC, although a bit "scatter-brained", seems to be diverging itself into many different sectors(All revolving around anonymity), which is a good thing, and if the cards are played right, it should have an interesting/long future.

nothing in cryptos I'd consider a longterm 'investment'. all are risky trading tokens with little to no real worth.

but can be fun trading tokens  Wink

I think Ripple has been stable and might be a good for long term investment, However most of the coins there are not good options for long term investments.

For longterm, the key is that the coin has a real user community, not just us crypto geeks on this forum.
Technological "advances" come every week in this forum, only to be replaced by another one next week.

Please take a look at AppleByte, the crypto supporting artists of all types. We have real users composed of artists & art lovers, and our price is growing steadily.

AppleByte (ABY/BTC) trades on Poloniex Exchange

And we are thought well of by influential members of the Bitcoin Community

Whats different in AppleByte in that it supports the arts that another coin can't do to support the same art? IE something like Devcoin where you can actually earn coins via shares for submitting art.

nxt will be a coin to hold, but dont just hold NXT, invest in assets that pay dividends. i get anywhere from 5 to 10 percent a week. so if you had 1 btc in nxt assets you would make .05 to .1 btc a week while still having the 1 btc value in your assets which you can sell.
