Welcome to CounterCoin!

Have you been playing Counter-Strike? Do you want to see a cryptocoin you can buy, sell, and trade? Do you want to buy skins, keys, or knives with this coin? Well, you're in luck! CounterCoin is a new, non-premined currency that will fit all of these needs! What more could you ask for? This is a coin gamers and non-gamers alike will cherish.

Now, what's our plan for CounterCoin? We plan to release the coin and it's services in stages, or "rounds." Each round ends when a block halving occurs.

The release plan:

Step 1: The Initial Release

This step will happen on October 23, 2014. The coin will be released at midnight on that day. The 23rd will be a day of partying, as people will be mining CSGO's servers out. This is considered round 1. At the end of round 1, 25600 blocks will have been mined. We will then move on to round 2.

Step 2: Game Shop

Exclusively using CSGO, you will be able to buy any item currently on the Steam marketplace with your coins. This will be an automated process, using secure trading bots for you. There will be a price relating to multiple values, including Bitcoin to USD, the item's value, and last, but certainly not least, CSGO's value. You will be able to place your order, and receive a code that will be included in the text of the trade offer. All items will be offered via trade, and you will not have to add anyone. You will have to provide your Trade Link, though. At the end of round 2, we will move on to round 3.

Step 3: User Control (A.K.A. The final step!)

At this point, we will actively be looking for people to help with CSGO's development, making it decentralized. The original developer (me) will almost be completely out of the equation, as this will become a community-oriented coin. The only thing I will do is watch the community grow, and moderate development to keep anything harmful from happening. I will also be responsible for maintaining the website, as well as the forums.

Coin Specs:

  • Mutli-algorithmic
  • 1,280,000 CSGO to be minted
  • 16 initial reward
  • 1 final reward
  • 300 second (5 minute) block time
  • 25600 blocks per half
  • Not premined
  • SHA256d, Scrypt, Skein, Groestl, and Qubits algorithms

As you can see, not many coins will be minted. Only a bit over 1 million. This is to increase value, as well as quicken half-time.

Remember, the release is on October 23! Don't miss out! Stay tuned right here on BitcoinTalk.org!

There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, which will follow the rules of the network no matter what miners do. Even if every miner decided to create 1000 bitcoins per block, full nodes would stick to the rules and reject those blocks.

To alert the people who do think this is anything like CSCoin, it is not. This is 100% based on the economy of the game, and not specifically betting.

smh. please not again.

Please stop leaving comments like this. This, honestly, does nothing to help CSGO.

Esports coins are broken by design and won't help anything at all. And the fact that the ticker is called the same as the coin it's trying to support doesn't help either.

Not your keys, not your coins!

Sorry, I was referring to the name of the coin only. The fact that you have some sort of use for this coin already puts it ahead most of the stuff launched here. Lower the block time and I'll mine it.
