Yes, especially before the next BTC halving in 2015. Doing this should recover your losses and turn a profit.

Quarkcoin, Asiacoin, and Litecoin, probably aren't ever going to go up big again.
Peercoin should be your best bet.
For the record: Asiacoin wasn't launched last year, it was this year(2014), and it turned out to have a hidden premine.

dump quark and asia..
litecoin bitcoin are still the top 2 coins.
altcoins are normally used for quick pump and dumps. much like 'penny share' trading

And Bitcoin isn't? Honestly, altcoins and bitcoin itself are all dangerous bets. Bitcoin's price from May/June fell by half(from around $600 to around $300 now). But that's the beauty in altcoins, you can make much more $ than you ever could with Bitcoin, and if the altcoin has a reputable team/developers behind it, I'd say it's in close proximity with Bitcoin for "Hodling".

Yes to the first question. And Litecoin has absolutely no growth whatsoever in the real world, where it really matters. Keep the Ripple. Its the only other "crypto" that's building any real-world infrastructure. They've got a few banks signed on already. BTC and XRP are my only two investments now. -B-

Well i made a wrong decision buying some the altcoins that you mentioned and ended losing. I have since sold off and for the the moment a huge chunk is in btc and only a tiny fraction left in ripple. I still see a potential in xrp though. If i ever want to buy altcoin it has to be written totally ground up from scratch not some rip off of btc codes

Good point, but to be fair to all these altcoins, Market cap isn't a true representation of what any of these cryptocurrencies will fetch on the open market. An 8 million dollar sell order was able to drop bitcoins price 100 dollars. What makes Nxt, BTSX, and Ripple even more questionable is because they are all POS/DPOS premined that are very illiquid and the price is sustained because of a lot of non-liquid coins are being multiplied by a small amount of liquidity. With these currencies you can crash the value on an exchange with less than 100BTC!

I wouldn't dump ltc but I would dump the rest - LTC has a decent shot to double over time and is much more likely to double before btc does, only cause it won't take hundreds to double.

I'd get rid of alts and put them into btc but that's just me. Yes, especially before the next BTC halving in 2015. Doing this should recover your losses and turn a profit.
Isn't the next halving in 2016? Anyone know the exact timeframe?

I can't really see a future for Litecoin unless it gets merchants behind it. People only really bought into it because it was seemingly the next best thing to bitcoin and looked like the best potential to make a bit of money, but obviously this wasnt the case.

might want to wait until the next mini spike if you can handle waiting, litecoin could shoot up to $5-6, probably not any more. Then I would say drop them all, their futures do not look good!
