solvemedia is usually readable unless they think you're "farming" by solving too many too quickly. recaptcha has similar logic and can be just as unreadable when that happens. there are other options as well: areyouahuman and minteye come to mind. and minteye also pays site owners for ads in their captchas, just like solvemedia.
