Dear bitcointalk users,

I'm new at bitcoins and i am about to buy my first bitcoin but before I do that I have a question about the armory paper backup. I have installed Armory and then it asked me to install BitcoinQT which all went perfectly fine, then Armory asked me to make a paper backup which also went fine but I´m confused of how good this is. Is the paper backup really able to recover all my bitcoins (on another PC) if for example my PC burns down in a fire or everything is lost due to hardware failure. I am quite dazzled actually that this would be enough and i won't need any other physical backup (on an external harddrive for example). Would this also mean that I theoretically could just uninstall armory and then install it back again when i want to use my bitcoins to prevent any sort of computer hackings where someone steals all the bitcoins?

Greetings,
Newar

Yes.

There is only one way to find out. Remove Armory and re-install (or set it up on another computer). Then import your backup.

This is actually what they recommend to do. Read the "I'm scared" section on this site: https://bitcoinarmory.com/about/using-our-wallet/

Yes, it works. You can also make a backup on an external drive, CD, USB stick or SD card.

Just remember, however, that your paper backups are not encrypted. In other words, if you have a back up on a CD, and someone else gets a hold of it, they can't take your bitcoins without your password. But if they get a hold of your paper backup they can.

Once you used the paper wallet, can you re use it or you have to make another one?
