Hi, I'm semi-new to mining altcoins, I used to GPU mine BTC back when it was profitable but that seems not to be the case anymore.
I've gotten into mining altcoins, but GPU mining seems not profitable enough for the time it takes to earn profit. Would it be worth getting an Antminer U2(as i don't really want to buy a seperate unit, atleast not yet,  and use a ton of extra power) to mine altcoins with SHA-256? How profitable would it be with most coins, and about how long would it take to make what I invest?(most likely around ฿0.09 each i've seen them for new, if anyone knows if they're cheaper anywhere else I might consider bulk) I just use a multipool and set it to most profitable coin by the way, so whatever is most profitable gets auto changed into BTC. Thanks in advance for answering my questions.

You should buy from bitmaintech instead for their latest and more energy efficient miner. Old miner tends to eat a lot of power..

The U2 is an USB miner, 2,5W isn't a lot of power. True though, it isn't efficient: the U2 is actually a revamped U1 with a bit better OC capability, but that's about it.

If you're planning on investing in ASICs, to get the best return, always go with the most expensive from a trusted company Tongue Mostly, only those are worth it to invest in.

On the other side, I have 10 U2s that I used for a month or two Tongue I could resell them at a bargain price (they're eating dust now anyways), but only if the OP is from Europe too Wink

How much would you be looking for per unit? I live in the UK, so I am in Europe Cheesy
