Hey guys

As the title says, Im working on something right now. Unfortunately I have 0 programming skills. So I would like to find out from any programmers / developers what you would charge me to create a website where I can compare odds of different bookies.

The website I am looking for must be very similar to http://www.oddsportal.com/ and http://www.soccerpunter.com/

The only difference is that it will not have the same bookies on it. I would like to use local bookies in south Africa. there is no such website that I can see that has this sort of information locally. Please let me know guys, I would really appreciate it.

The Bitcoin network protocol was designed to be extremely flexible. It can be used to create timed transactions, escrow transactions, multi-signature transactions, etc. The current features of the client only hint at what will be possible in the future.

The look is not important at all. Im only worried about the functionality. I just need it to automatically update odds from different bookies so that I can see which one gives the best odds.

I think you can hire a developer from freelancer or elance for 500-1000 dollars.

Lol good question. Im willing to listen to offers. I have some BTC to spare. And I have another 2 similar projects if we manage to get this one right. So It will be nice to work with the same person on all 3, then I know we can build some kind of trust.

A good way to get an accurate quote is to make a very specific document telling exactly what you want. From what sources does the information need to be taken, what pages need to be created, what information must be on those pages.

The two websites list in the first post will cost you thousands to create.

Even without graphics? I just need it for myself, not a public site.

The two listed websites will cost that if not a lot more. But they have a lot of functionality and a lot of data. That's why I'd recommend you writing a product requirements document listing as exactly as possible what you want so a programmer would be able to give you a more accurate price.

Of course you always have second choice programmer's that say they will build it for a couple hundred bucks but end up disappointing you.

The first thing you need to check is if the bookmakers you are interested in actually offer odds feeds. It's usually done through their affiliate department as an acquisition tool, so if you don't bring any new customers for them they might cut off your access to the feeds.

If they don't have feeds it will be really expensive to get a tool that scrapes the websites themselves. It will also need to be updated by the developer as soon as they make any changes to the websites.

Its kind of difficult to explain what I am looking for but I will give it a shot.

I want some sort of site or document that can compare the odds of different bookmakers IE sportingbets.com, bet365.com etc

Now it must have a bunch of tables for the different sports I want to bet on, with a list of the games that are coming up in the next few days. the tables will look something like this:

http://www.oddsportal.com/soccer/england/premier-league/

But obviously there will be one table for each different thing that I want to bet on. So one for Barclays premier league, one for English championship, one for NBA etc. We will decide on the relevant ones once we get things moving. Maybe for now we start with the premier league.

then u must be able to click on the match you want to see, and it shows you the different bookmakers odds on the game. Just like what is shown here:
http://www.oddsportal.com/soccer/england/premier-league/west-ham-manchester-city-OYNWwCGs/

This is where the site will differ from the oddsportal site. I want to be able to put different bookmakers into the site. So instead of having the list that is shown on oddsportal, I want to have a list of the local bookmakers in south Africa.

Like I said, the look is not important, as long as the information is there and it is constantly up to date.

This is a solid idea, assuming you get someone to do the programming for you, the information feed from the sites should be automatic... Link this site with a review system showing that they are a legit site and you should get all traffic - very cool  Cool

It appears you are trying to build a site similar to the one, which shows which site has the lowest price for a product, and in this case showing which site offers the best odds. Would definitely be a nice idea.

That's the idea. But im not doing it so that I can get traffic, I actually want it for myself. But if it works well, I probably could put it publically on the net but that is not my intention at the moment.

Im still looking for somebody whos willing to help me though... Next step is to post on freelancer I guess.

There are some sites that do this already, for bitcoin sportsbooks.
Good luck!

You might try posting in the Services section and get more replies.
That is where developers/programming needs are advertised.
