How to add a new crypto currency

So i started my own coin, got the wallet, dl and mining - How does one go about getting the coin on the exchanges to see if there is an interest. I wont be laying my on the table here, due to self promotion rules, but im a newbie and well i just want to ask the community.
How do you go about seeing if others will like and use the coin, ect ect?
