Cryptowatch.com

Please have a look at the functionality of these sites:

http://blockr.io/
https://insight.bitpay.com/
http://bitcoinwatch.com/
https://blockchain.info/

The frontend developer will develop a responsive template with graphical elements to my specification, the developer will be given great freedom in artistic expression. The backend programming is already covered, and will be added after, or alongside the development of the frontend.

Requirements: HTML5/CSS3/ajax/websocket.io

Serverside I would prefer Nginx/mysql/php, but I'm open to suggestions. Expertise in that field is already covered, but you will get root access to a dev-server where you can do adjustments in server settings to your pleasing for dev purposes.

Version control system should be used in the development, for instance GIT.

Clientside you choose the kind of tech you want to work with. You get freedom to work whenever and whereever you want.

This is intended to be a one off gig, however, if the work is done in a good way, possibility for future additional work is present.

Even if you're a student or someone perhaps with not many years of experience, you will be considered. The most important thing is that you will be willing to learn what's required to do the work and last but not least, to deliver quality work.

You should write good english. Code must be clean and nice, and commented, so it would be easy to make adjustements for anyone else. Libraries (for example jquery) could be used, but any such usage should (if possible) be kept to a mimimum, and all code in the project should be hosted on the dev server.

Everything should be original, if you reuse anything you've built before, or use any available themes or templates, please let me know, and we can discuss that usage further.

Attention to detail is important and  you must have a genuine interest in what you do and good work ethic.

There's no set deadline on the project, and you're free to work on other projects as well, however there must be consistent progress on the project. Preferably your work should be ready in a 2 weeks time. For a very good frontend developer, it would probably take even less time.

The desired functionality will be a block explorer, I'm thinking of using bitpay's open source block explorer, perhaps modify it's theme a little to be consistent with the rest of the site you will develop.

If you look at http://blockr.io/, you have several cryptocurrencies listed. It would be nice to have something similar, but not ripping off their design. If you could do something interesting with javascript and give the user the ability to pin his desired cryptocurrencies (use cookies) on the main page that would be fantastic. Once a specific crypto currency is clicked on, a larger view for this crypto should be opened, check blockr.io for how they've done it, and then figure out your own variant.

You don't need to concern yourself by getting data from the various API's unless you feel it's necessary - the backend is covered. Inserting bogus data here would be fine.

It would be very preferrable if the source (view source) in browser looks nice and is readable. Please don't use autogeneration tools that makes incredible messy code.

In addition to that above, have a look at http://bitcoinwatch.com/ and check out the Exchanges section. Something like that would be interesting to have, if you could make a template for this, ie Market, Last,Volume(24h),Bid,Ask,High,Low it would be good.

Use your creativity and skills to tie these elements together. Before you start the work, there should be a plan as to the layout, and you could impose the restrictions you think is necessary for you to complete the project, it's easy to make too many features, so these must be limited so the project can be completed in a timely manner within budget.

Once a spesification for the work is made, and an agreement in terms of payment is made, the deal is sealed, if you find that halfway through the project it was more extensive than you thought and want more payment, that's not going to happen.

Any extra payment will only take place for extra freelance work after the original project has ended and will be agreed upon separately.

Budget for the work is 0.5 BTC. I'm aware this is a limited budget, and therefore you're free to limit the project to fit this frame.

I have plans for putting ads on the site once it reaches enough visitors, and possibly also affiliate links. For the right person, it would be possible to get equity in the site, either permanent or time based (ie. one year).

For example, a 5% share in the site for a period of one year would give you 5% of the earning of the site over that time. So if the site made 20 BTC in one year, you would get 1 BTC in total. Monthly payouts would be possible.

For the right person, arrangements can be discussed further.

Please send a pm, preferably with links to work you've done and a short introduction of yourself and a few words about what techstack you would use and any comments on the project.
