This Polish Hospital Will Let Patients Settle Bills With Bitcoin

http://www.coindesk.com/patients-can-pay-surgery-polish-hospital-bitcoin/

Quote
A private hospital in Warsaw, Poland, which is run by the Medicover Group, will soon let patients pay their bills in bitcoin. A bitcoin ATM planned to be launched at the facility in the near future should make that process even easier.

Great news for sure! Good to see that there are different kind of businesses willing to accept Bitcoin as form of payment.

Only not sure if health insurers will cover anything that is paid for with Bitcoin.

Well I don't know why but I certainly had this picture come to my mind,

Imagine a patient is admitted in the hospital for a surgery. Now he/she has 2 btc that's worth about 330 per coin in the current market. And the surgery will cost about 500$. So he/she thinks that it is enough. Now the next morning, given the nature of the Bitcoin, the price just dropped to 200 per coin. Now what will happen?

Wait are they going to accept payments in BTC or is there just going to be a BTC ATM that you can take the cash from and pay your bills in fiat? One is a small step other one is a bigger one.

I think people like you have no faith in humanity and you seriously need to stop trying to enforce that pessimism on other people. If a doctor would seriously abandon somebody like you say because of money, then they're assholes, that goes for anybody but there you go, you think you need people with guns to go and make them cure people.

Let them take one of your kidneys as a payment. Problem solved.

They are accepting payments in BTC and planning to also install the ATM in the future.

You have to pay to go to the hospital in Poland? If you can't pay do they just let you die?

Nope. There's a 'free healthcare', but there are also private hospitals (like the one mentioned) for those who are not willing to wait months/years for the first available term to see a specialist doctor etc

When you sick the first thing in your mind would about how to settle the bills not about using what to pay the bills
