Someone sent me 0.5 BTC 10ish hours ago I believe and it has yet to be confirmed or even show up on my client. I've received other BTC during this time with no issue.

Any explanations for this?

How is that relevant?

EDIT: That transaction is interesting - it looks like the change transaction was also spent and is still unconfirmed. Wonder if that is confusing some pool software.

Because it depends on this transaction https://blockchain.info/tx-index/6972841/1 which has no fees and and output less than 0.01 BTC.

Another transaction sent by the same address about a minute after is also unconfirmed. According to the transaction pages, both transactions were first relayed by the blockchain.info server itself, which likely means it was sent by someone using their My Wallet service.

Seems clear the problem is not on your end. Perhaps the funds came from an invalid account, or perhaps they used unconfirmed funds.
