I spend a lot of time and effort; never really wanted to invest actual money in a game, since I liked to spend it on other stuff

Actually, I take that back. I invested $50 in Maplestory, back when it was popular, and then sold the account for $200

Succeeded in getting paid for testing the games, or only partly succeeded (you just play them)? I don't usually pay to play games. And I don't really have much time to play at all.

I spend about $50 on Steam so far (since August) for games and items. Can't resist to buy new campaign and weapon skins on CS:GO

I only play games on my ipad, I think the max I spend on games is €15 per month.
Can anyone tell me what is so special about CS:GO? People spend hundreds of dollars for only a knife!!??

The same problem is on DotA2 and TF2: the itens are too rare. You open a box that each chance costs 5 bucks. Ok so far, but here is the problem: there is only 1% that you will receive an item of the most epic quality of the game. And it isn't every single item of those 1% that has a nice visual. Just to you get the idea, hats on TF2 of this quality can vary from 30 bucks to fcking 10000 dollars. The price is relative to the uniqueness of the item and its apperance.

I spent like 40 dollars for the TI4 compendium for DOTA 2. I would consider the money well spent though.
