Windows and linux can cross compile, OSX can't be cross compiled. Have you ever seen why most altcoins have linux and windows and hardly of them mac. You clearly have no idea.

I have actually done this.

You don't have to be rude.  With the Mac sdk, it is actually possible, but is much harder to do than cross compiling windows.  I have created 2 coins and I know this.  Sipa(a core dev) can verify this, as I helped him with the sdk before.

What SDK are you talking about? You mean the SDK in Xcode and moving that C code to linux? LMAO It is impossible, take it from me Wink I been developing and using a mac before it was cool ;0

You may also want to ask some of the posters in this thread: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=216672.0

It is a list of Mac altcoin wallets.

Good Luck!

fyi, building on osx with macports still works fine even though the devs decided to only support homebrew.

UHMMM yes that means you need a copy of OSX to get the Xcode C files... not cross compilation, more like if you needed it in a pinch you can do it, otherwise impossible.

Sorry to say but the core developers aren't always the smartest people in the room Wink

I haven't been able to compile on Mavericks, I just use a virtual box running snow leopard to compile my OSX wallets.

Mavericks has made some changes with boost binaries and other stuff however if you still want to give it a shot try this tutorial:

http://techspry.com/how-to/how-to-install-litecoind-bitcoind-dogecoind-on-os-x-10-9-mavericks/

Once I gave up the compilation of the portfolio under MacOS. I did not work. Now to be back. We'll see if it's useful.
