Hi guys, Im new to this forum but would like to say Hi! first. I have been reading this forum for a long time but never really had anything to contribute yet. Recently I purchased a antminer s3 which worked perfectly upto to other day ago-
Im using OSX and manually set the ip information then plug in the antminer and go to http://192.168.1.99- the login screen shows up as usual and I login with the default root/root then instead of the opnwrt gui I get:

/usr/lib/lua/luci/dispatcher.lua:448: Failed to execute function dispatcher target for entry '/'.
The called action terminated with an exception:
/usr/lib/lua/luci/dispatcher.lua:448: Failed to execute firstchild dispatcher target for entry '/admin'.
The called action terminated with an exception:
/usr/lib/lua/luci/dispatcher.lua:448: Failed to execute function dispatcher target for entry '/admin/status'.
The called action terminated with an exception:
/usr/lib/lua/luci/dispatcher.lua:448: Failed to execute template dispatcher target for entry '/admin/status/overview'.
The called action terminated with an exception:
/usr/lib/lua/luci/template.lua:104: Failed to execute template 'admin_status/index'.
A runtime error occured: /usr/lib/lua/luci/sys.lua:174: attempt to index local 'meminfo' (a nil value)
stack traceback:
   [C]: in function 'assert'
   /usr/lib/lua/luci/dispatcher.lua:448: in function 'dispatch'
   /usr/lib/lua/luci/dispatcher.lua:195: in function </usr/lib/lua/luci/dispatcher.lua:194>

I have tried many resets and lots of looking on the internet but I am lost- if anyone could lend some assistance I would really appraite it!!

I own web based vpn service and would gladly give a free years of membership to the first person that offered a easy to fix solution.

Thank you
Alpha.

The same problem with 2 units. How to fix it? How to upgrade firmware?
It is not possible to log in, also via putty (ssh) message Network error: Coonection refused.
But ping to miner default IP 192.168.1.99 is working (only no LED on miner)

You might not like the answer but might as well bite the bullet and get a new ethernet control card.

Just contact Bitmain and ask for an out of warranty ECB replacement; they'll send you a payment notice via email for the ecb.

This should solve your problem completely, you'd get a new one with the latest firmware on it.

They aren't cheap and no one should tamper with those; flashing firmware, if not done right will outright kill your hardware.

It's like installing a new version of .NET on a windows machine.. ever had a .NET install go sour?

Yeah....... your lucky your HDD don't get fried or suffer from an unrecoverable error.

Control card for an S3 is tough made but will set you back around $100...

If not, it's an RMA, I'd take the risk in getting just a control card instead of filling for an RMA...

An out of warranty card is maybe a 2-3 week ordeal at worst, compared to 3-8 months for an RMA... depending on holidays and how lucky you are.

Good luck.
