In my opinion Dogecoin is good for cryptocurrency movement as a whole. I think that it’s better to have several secure blockchains and I think that Dogecoin brings more users to Bitcoin.

What do you think? Do you think that Dogecoin helps Bitcoin or not?

i love dogecoin but due to its large quantity and yearly amount increase and meme origin i see it as the internets funny money. tipping, game sites etc, reward systems. I dont take it seriously and i dont think alot of others do either but thats its target fun internet money.

i see bitcoin as the serious crypto. with its divisibility i see no need for litecoin.

so rounding up 2 currencies 2 purposes

dogecoin - fun on the net
bitcoin - serious on the net

thats just me though.

Look at Doge's design... it is perfectly designed for what it was intended, it has serious backing as well. How the hell is it getting so many sponsors?
People really love this coin, the meme, the design, it's spread... This thing was engineered to be spread by 10 year olds! It just puts a childish smile on my face.

I love Dogecoin.

If you think my efforts are worth something; I'll keep on keeping on.

Dogecoin has an unlimited supply and is therefore worthless, long term, for the same reason fiat money is. What I do love about Doge is that a form of money based on an internet meme could very well outlive the US dollar.

Remember Aaron Swartz, a 26 year old computer scientist who died defending the free flow of information.

Currency supply:

Dogecoin and bitcoin estimated inflation rate for the next 10 years.

2015: Bitcoin: 10.00% | Dogecoin: 5.20%
2016: Bitcoin: 9.09%   | Dogecoin: 4.94%
2017: Bitcoin: 4.17%   | Dogecoin: 4.71%
2018: Bitcoin: 4.00%   | Dogecoin: 4.50%
2019: Bitcoin: 3.85%   | Dogecoin: 4.30%
2020: Bitcoin: 3.70%   | Dogecoin: 4.13%
2021: Bitcoin: 1.79%   | Dogecoin: 3.96%
2022: Bitcoin: 1.75%   | Dogecoin: 3.81%
2023: Bitcoin: 1.72%   | Dogecoin: 3.67%
2024: Bitcoin: 1.69%   | Dogecoin: 3.54%

“The goal for the currency is to keep approximately 100 billion coins in circulation - thus after 100 billion Dogecoins are created, rewards will continue at 10k each block. This will help maintain mining and stabilize the number of coins in circulation (considering lost wallets and various other ways coins may be destroyed) at 100 billion.”
