Interested to see if anyone is still buying new mining rigs?

I decided that i'll stick with what I have as it seems like a waste hurling more money at it now. The difficulty is still increasing so I guess someone is.

Thanks for the link.

Looking at ebay for example the price of miners has crashed. Understandably I guess. Its all speculation Smiley

There is a point when buying mining hardware will become a good investment versus fiat. When Bitcoin and Litecoin mining profit peaked (May 2011, twice in 2013), ASICs and GPUs were selling at 3-5x their original prices despite being used.

Whether it's just better to simply buy Bitcoin is a different debate.

idiots are people who remark on other people's lives without having a clue about anything about them  Cheesy
mining is no longer a 'get rich quick' scheme. maybe it was good for a few of us early adopters but it's still a hobby for me.

why do you seem so bitter about this?

yup, if you're going to mine take it as a hobby coz if your aim is to make profit then you will most likely end up crying in a corner  Smiley

One thing that helps me over next few months is the cold weather.  It is high 30 F outside.  Winter is my best time to expand.  With ambient like that you have very cool running miners.  With little to no cooling costs.

People are setting up large operations(still), I really doubt anyone is buying hardware worth <10000 at this point unless they're doing it just for fun

I think home miners are selling and cloud miners are buying. This is disturbing towards the de-centralized nature of bitcoin.

A lot still want hardware (including me).  Mining in the cloud is not the same.  Not to mention there are a lot of sites that dont have trust.

pretty good. and the fact that we have more time to monitor what method and where our rigs mine, we can make sure we get the most out of our miners. I can say with 100% confidence that I am mining more per TH/s than even KNC will be doing with their datorhall, simply because I have time to monitor the pools on which I mine and spread block variance between my miners.

and yeah, nice PSU, i've got one arriving to power my new SP20 next week  Grin
