David_Benz:

A friendly note. You continue to pretend that physical violence will ever come from threads here (childish as all hell) and you continue to state things that are completely ignorant but appropriate for a passionate newbie.

Take some friendly advice and take everything with a grain of salt, do some homework, and stop listening to the conspiracy theorist loonies on this forum. Not every successful company is of Free Masonry, witchcraft and evil. You'll also have to prove your claims that any of it -is- evil because so far I'm just seeing a random nobody on a forum who thinks he's Atlas reincarnated.

We don't need another Atlas. We already have more than one (everyone is Atlas!)

On that note, you seem to be passionate about "saving" bitcoin, but I wasn't aware it was failing. Do you realize that your argument is insulting to everyone on both sides of the arguments? We're either supporting a failed concept (because it needs saving) or we're supporting evil (because you said so). Get a grip.

(And yes, I'd gladly tell you to get a grip to your face, in a cage, in a tree, on a box, with green eggs and ham etc who cares where or how)

Cool confidence is way more convincing than sensationalist rant Smiley
I'm going to continue using MtGox, in homeopathic manner...so if something does go awry I won't lose that much.
More work = more rewards Smiley

Does that mean you'll be using them 1 / 1,000,000 times you use Bitcoin?

Hmm, somewhat different picture: http://blockorigin.pfoe.be/chart.php

Thats over the past 2 weeks while the other chart is 4 days, I'm also sure that both are missing many blocks that were actually solved by deepbit & are categorizing them as solved by another pool.

First of all, Tycho is one of the most dedicated Bitcoin community members around.  He loves bitcoin, and wants to see it succeed.  Just because he is making money off it does not mean he doesn't have the rest of our interests at heart.

Second, deepbit is only 5% of hashing power now.  I'd much rather have 38% of the power in Tycho's hands than be completely unknown.

MtGox isn't perfect but it is the only exchange with enough liquidity to support the growing Bitcoin economy now.

I am a consultant providing services to CoinLab, Inc.

Blockchain is broken again and is labeling DeepBit's blocks as unknown. This happens all the time, a few days ago it said Bitcoinica was the largest pool.  Roll Eyes

According to pfoe.be they look on the pools' websites:

This site has a database with all known bitcoin pools. We scrape the webpages of those pools to know which blocks these pools have mined. This information is available on these pages.

From what I understand reading their description that's far from being accurate too, however. Seems like the better indicator than blockchain.info though
