Regulations force Bitcoin ATM Robocoin to ban anonymous transactions

As Bitcoin businesses become compliant with financial regulation, they’re eschewing anonymity — and the Bitcoin community is not happy.

Bitcoin ATM Robocoin stated yesterday that all of its ATM operators would have to enable Know Your Customer/Anti-Money Laundering (KYC/AML) software and hardware as part of a new effort toward compliance with the Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCen).

Why is Robocoin processing transactions? This needs to be solely the responsibility of the local operator who then needs to be compliant with the relevant regulations at her location.. The real problem here is that Robocoin is trying to control everything in order to collect fees from each transaction by using propriety software and DRM. The proper solution is for the local operators to take control of their machines away from Robocoin, by breaking the DRM and "jail-braking" them. They are then in a position to comply with the KNC/AMC regulations as they apply at the location where the machine is installed.

Concerned that blockchain bloat will lead to centralization? Storing less than 4 GB of data once required the budget of a superpower and a warehouse full of punched cards. https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/8/87/IBM_card_storage.NARA.jpg https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Punched_card

Didn't see this post in another thread in that case it makes sense
I thought it was more about the ATM's needing to be complaint but taking a cut for forcing its users to take a cut from their sales when they already pay a heck of a lot for the unit to meet the AML/KYC regulations is unfair.
Compliance should be set to the local operator especially as different countries have different rules on their operation.

Avoid Robocoin ATMs and go for ones like Lamassu, they're less annoying to use anyway.
