It is not about post count, but about activity count. Irrespective of your post count, at 30 activity point U'll be a Jr. Member.

Activity is determined by the formula:
time = # of 2 week periods where you posted since registration
activity = min(time * 14, posts);

Essentially, updating every two week periods, it's the minimum of how many days you've joined versus your post count. Your activity is the minimum of these two values

I would suggest that you continue to post, and learn about bitcoin; read the stickies and increase the quality of your posts. Then make at least one post after this Tuesday. If you do all of this then I am fairly certain that your activity will go up by 50% (assuming that you make the post late enough in the day on Tuesday).

You only have to post once per two-week period for your time (# of 2-week periods) to increment; your activity would be based on your post count if that's all you do though

You can only get 14 activities per 2 weeks, that's how the activity system works.
Not sure though how it'll work after the new forum software.

Sadly, yes.
The info is there in the newbie readme thread (sticky in newbie section) and the forum ranks thread (sticky in meta), but people found it easier to make a new thread than to read the sticky threads or search the forum.

Maybe he wants lower wait times between posts or something, but there's nothing wrong with wanting to join a sig campaign proving you're not gonna shitpost (though I still wish people would read the stickies or search first).

Some people may just ignore you if you are still labeled a "Newbie." That, or they just outright not believe you, since people seem to be cautious of any newbie account being an alt of someone else... I'm really kind of shocked to see all of the threads in the Services sub-section with people selling accounts (I assume to get buyers to participate in sig campaigns faster), and selling trust scams, etc.

I guess if the forum allows alt accounts (which I thought it didn't, btw), and encourages signature campaigns that relate to how much activity an account has, it leads to this. I like the activity versus post count as mattering when choosing what level someone is, but it still has the downfall of people posting just to post, versus actually having something to say. I would think being a member for a longer period of time should have more sway as to activity too, because it means you stuck around and know how the forum works.

I'm probably one of the few "Newbies" who actually read the Meta about post count, activities, and trust, to get a feel for the forum before jumping in. But I've already been ignored as if I wasn't even there by someone, and that I have to assume was based on my low post count/Newbie status at the time, since everyone else who was posted to, had a lot more posts then I did. member ranks are changed based on activity not your post count
you gain activity of 14 added to your account within that 2 week time you are active
if member level was changed with post counts and we a lot of newbies users come and spam this forum to gain rank status

so its better that member rank is decided with activity not by your post counts

This. Obviously, people can't make a career off of signature campaigns, but it's a nice way to earn a little extra cash
