Below is a video demonstrating coins propagating on the network instantaneously. Compared to Bitcoin which takes ten minutes for one confirmation this takes seconds. This is a game changer in cryptocurrencies. Just one example would be that you'd be able to instantly send coins between exchanges for arbitrage. This not only sends the coins instantly but also confirms them making them available in seconds. Video demonstrating Darkcoin's Instant X: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zBjUPj-TmFE&feature=youtu.beReally very potent stuff; absolutely amazing.

It still takes 10 to 15 seconds to reach 1 confirmation. Nothing special and hardly instant.
So it's not actually instant at all. Just marketing bullshit.

Here come the haters! It was confirmed pretty much 2 sec after he clicked the button. Normal confirmations do not apply anymore when InstantX is enabled. The transaction is securely locked in place and cannot be double spent against, same as 6 confirmations of the regular blockchain. Something you don't get about that ?

I'd like to thank eduffield and the other developers for this critically important evolution in virtual currency. DarkCoin is what bitcoin should have been. Some might call it "Bitcoin 2.0" but would do better by saying: "DarkCoin is digital cash." - Child Harold - February 28, 2014 https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=421615.msg5424980#msg5424980

Yes it is, the code is written and being refined now, testnet is coming too and then into the next release of Darkcoin (Current release is Darkcoin ONYX (10.15.21)).

You can always go to your bank and wire funds, go home and wait for several days for funds to clear, after paying a hefty fee, assuming your old clunker is not being towed by the police.

That's not how it works at all. It uses the MN system to verify a hash and locks the input with 10 separate entities. It takes literally seconds for confirmations. This is rivaling Visa or Mastercard payment systems.

that's 20-30 seconds to a totally confirmed transaction - equivalent to 6+ regular confirmations. Still something you don't get?
