Why was I banned for ten days for posting articles in politics and society?

I was banned for 10 days for 'trolling/spamming' for posting the following articles in politics and society:

I would like to know why I was banned for presenting informative articles with a link to the source in each one.

At this point it seems to be a form of censorship, directly or not.

I would like to continue posting these articles.  If you feel that they're in the wrong category, you're welcome to move them to a more appropriating category.  I do not see freely speaking of validated, sourced articles on a discussion board as a misuse of the community.

I would appreciate a response addressing the concerns provided.

One article is almost a year old, while another is ~2 years old, and the others are more recent, although I don't think there is any real rule agains posing "aged" information like that.

I would wait for BadBear to respond, as he tends to be pretty fair and should be able to give an explanation.

You know why you were banned - copyright theft. (Fitting crime for a thief.)  I reported all of those posts.

You cannot copy and paste an entire article, even if you post a link back to it.

If you want to post your garbage, post one or two paragraphs, and a link back to the original.  Can't guarantee you won't get banned again though, since your posts never contribute anything to the community.

People post articles all the time.  And the people that write those articles do so for them to be spread.  When you just post a link to an article, people complain that it's not included in the post.

This is nothing short of censorship, and whichever mod did so gave vod discretion to influence a ban.

It would be looked into. Trolling is against the rules, however it is something that is very difficult to investigate and moderate.

IMO what vod does is not trolling, he is simply voicing his concerns and opinions, that happen to be contrary to most scammers

Mods will very rarely comment on the specifics of why you were banned and even more rarely will advise as to who issued the ban to prevent harassment from people that they banned.

I think if you want an answer then you should act as diplomatically as possible to show that you will not harass him once he reveals his "identity"

Well in dank's case he was just spamming entire articles with *zero* input of his own.  He doesn't contribute to this community at all.

I don't have any beef with dank. I think a lot of what he says is a little bit off the wall sometimes and has made some mistakes in the past (taking out the loan from scqual). I do however think that he has good intentions and is trying to make an effort to contribute to the community. I think he should be given the benefit of the doubt

You are misguided.  dank has the money to pay squall partially back, but he refuses to do it.

Squall already gave him the benefit of the doubt and made a payment arrangement.  dank kept his word for a few payments then stopped paying altogether.
